Prom 2015: An Ongoing Saga

Since the last time I talked about prom last month, ideas have started to swell in my class from the simple to the wildly absurd that will never happen.  Here are some of them for you to agree or disagree with in the comments


  1. Fire and Ice: Pretty self-explanatory 
  2. African Jungle: As described by one of my classmates "We fry up the chicken and serve the pink lemonade and watermelon.  It's basically like a barbecue!"
  3. The $500 Prom (my idea): Have someone's parents cook the food, take pictures outside with a poorer quality camera, and dance the night away to someone's boombox.  Also use paper and plastic so it's disposable at the end of the night.
  4. Masquerade: Mask your true identity from everyone besides your date and have no regrets by the end of the night right? Well when you're built like me.... WRONG!
  5. The "Acid" Prom: This one comes from my friend Issac, or as we like to call him, Pablo. "All but one of us would take a dose of acid, and then we'd make our own theme.  The one guy would film the whole thing." Yes I know this isn't all that funny, but it was an idea. 
  6. 1920's: Inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby I wouldn't mind partying it up like Gatsby did for a night. 
These are all wonderful ideas, and it will be interesting to see which one ends up becoming final.  

As for my date, that's not cemented in place at all yet.  I just hope that whoever I go with isn't a stick-in-the-mud who likes to hide in the corner, because that really makes the night a bummer.

A Post About Snow

Snow is something many of us seem to be bi-polar about, myself included.  We love it when the first snowfall of the year graces it's way through our area, but by March we're sick of it and ready for Spring.  It coats the roads, causes car accidents, and sends people to supermarkets in droves, because everyone's worried that this will be the last time they ever make it out of their house for the next few days, which never really seems to be the case thankfully. Regardless of that though, lots of us love a good snow.  Think of the things we have to be thankful for when the snow flies.  We are now able to go (if there's enough snow), sledding, skiing, have snowball fights, and build snowmen. There are tons of things to do when that first winter storm hits, and we should enjoy it while we can.  I've been regretting not being able to take part in Winter activities these past few years due to my numerous prior commitments, but maybe this will be the year

TikTok: Why.... Just Why?

It's a day off and I'm sitting at home scrolling through the Snapchat stories of my friends and co-workers.  I'm just leaving one person's story and moving onto the next, but first I have to watch an advertisement, because Snapchat needs to make money somehow doesn't it? I look at the screen, and for some reason a teenaged dude is just chilling there in a white suit and clown makeup lip syncing to some song I've never heard of before.  The screen is split though, so you know someone else must be coming to join him, right?  Well low and behold not even five seconds later another teenager in a black suit with his hair groomed to resemble a sheep and blue/black skin steps in and starts lip syncing to another part of the song where a different person seems to sing.  The ad cuts out not long after that, and I'm back with my Snapchat stories.
