      You should have seen the pictures she took after that. She even shamed me on Instagram by posting this one. Oh well, still love her though! :)

My Home Away From Home

Some of us most likely have a "home away from home".  A place where we go to escape the pressures and stresses of daily life and just feel at ease and relax.  It could be the deer camp, the radio station, the RV campground nearby, or even your friend's basement.  These types of places provide us mental rest from whatever is driving us nuts back home, and we can breathe easy knowing that we have some time to ourselves. Back when I was in MN, my home away from home was Story Book Lodge.  It was pretty much an exact copy of home - A place I loved to be on the waterfront with lots of trees and delicious smells and amazingly designed buildings.  The only major difference between home and SBL was that SBL had a lot of people around, unless it was the weekend, when a lot of counselors went home, and only those sticking around for the next week of camp stayed put.  It's always blissful and blessing to be there, and I'm going to write more about SBL at a later dat...

Make The Most Out Of Your Thanksgiving This Year

In just two short days many of us will be sitting down to a table with our family members to enjoy a meal together as well as play games, watch football, share what we're thankful for, and then fall asleep into a turkey coma mid-afternoon.  Yes that's right, it's Thanksgiving.  Man this year has flown by.... Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.  One of the reasons is the absence of gift-giving, which removes the obligatory parts of Christmas and Easter and turns the holiday into more of an authentic celebrate it with your family type of thing.  Christmas shopping has more than crept into the holiday, but most of us are still able to ignore it and wait to catch those doorbuster sales until another day, and while I work for a company that needs me on Thanksgiving night and I don't mind it that much, I do applaud the Mall of America for deciding to be closed this year.  Definitely a possible sign of them trying to reverse a trend we've seen over the...

You can read the first post of this type by finding it from when it was published in August in the sidebar.  Happy reading Post Link Play the Daddy Warbucks role in "Annie": I've never really enjoyed the hero type roles all too much, but here's one I could pull off I think.  It would be so much fun to put all my energy into this snazzy politician that falls for his personal assistant.  Voice TV Commercials: Occasionally I watch the PBS station in my area, mostly on Saturday nights when I watch The Red Green Show During that time you can catch commercials announcing the sponsors of the programs, and the voice on that has been the same for so many years.  I wonder if they need any new ones recorded.......?  Host a Talk Show: Those of you who attended yesterday's division meeting will understand this one.  I want a show were I could give comedic monolouges, walk up into the audience, and act as the straight man in sketches.  I'd also bring my friends...
