The 2014-2015 TV Season: What Looks Exciting

The 2014-2015 regular television season is almost here, and I'm so excited!  There are several new shows debuting that I can't wait to see that will hopefully last beyond this season.

Red Band Society (FOX): This show is going to be telling the stories of people in a long-term care hospital.  One of the main characters is the narrator, who's in a coma.  The trailer makes it look so much fun! You can watch the trailer here and the program debuts 9/17 at 9/8c.

Selfie (ABC): A woman addicted to her internet following enters therapy. The trailer can be seen here and the program debuts 9/30 at 8/7c

Mulaney (FOX): A stand-up comedian is offered to write/preform for a experienced comedian.  The trailer can be seen here and the program debuts 10/5 at 9:30/8:30c

Mr. Robinson (NBC): A man becomes a substitute teacher in order to gain funding for music-related purposes.  This show currently has no debut date set.

The Odd Couple (CBS): This show also has no debut date set, but it is a reboot of the old classic starring Matthew Perry (Go On) and Thomas Gannon Jr. It will be interesting.

Fresh Off The Boat (ABC): A sitcom about an Asian immigrant family, and that's literally all I know right now.  No current debut date set.

In just two short days many of us will be sitting down to a table with our family members to enjoy a meal together as well as play games, watch football, share what we're thankful for, and then fall asleep into a turkey coma mid-afternoon.  Yes that's right, it's Thanksgiving.  Man this year has flown by.... TikTok: Why.... Just Why?

It's a day off and I'm sitting at home scrolling through the Snapchat stories of my friends and co-workers.  I'm just leaving one person's story and moving onto the next, but first I have to watch an advertisement, because Snapchat needs to make money somehow doesn't it? I look at the screen, and for some reason a teenaged dude is just chilling there in a white suit and clown makeup lip syncing to some song I've never heard of before.  The screen is split though, so you know someone else must be coming to join him, right?  Well low and behold not even five seconds later another teenager in a black suit with his hair groomed to resemble a sheep and blue/black skin steps in and starts lip syncing to another part of the song where a different person seems to sing.  The ad cuts out not long after that, and I'm back with my Snapchat stories. My Musical Stories: Passenger's "All The Little Lights"

Passenger is many things musically.  It has been both a band and a solo act with a backing band, and it has also explored a few different genres of music from the quieter side of the folk to full on rock, and also some bold Americana.  Though it has only spawned one song to the major radio charts ("Let Her Go"),  Michael Rosenberg (as he's known in real life) has a lot to be proud of and has pulled in multiple listeners in many different ways through the ten studio albums he's released over the last twelve years as well as massive concerts with a backing band and even some street and subway busking.  There's enough fans for both sides of the music (acoustic and full backing track) that Passenger's 2018 album "Runaway" was recorded with both versions for each track.  How cool is that?  I could go on and on about "Let Her Go" for ages, but that's the song everyone has heard off All The Little Lights , and there's a total of twe...
