A Post About Snow

Snow is something many of us seem to be bi-polar about, myself included.  We love it when the first snowfall of the year graces it's way through our area, but by March we're sick of it and ready for Spring.  It coats the roads, causes car accidents, and sends people to supermarkets in droves, because everyone's worried that this will be the last time they ever make it out of their house for the next few days, which never really seems to be the case thankfully.

Regardless of that though, lots of us love a good snow.  Think of the things we have to be thankful for when the snow flies.  We are now able to go (if there's enough snow), sledding, skiing, have snowball fights, and build snowmen. There are tons of things to do when that first winter storm hits, and we should enjoy it while we can.  I've been regretting not being able to take part in Winter activities these past few years due to my numerous prior commitments, but maybe this will be the year that I change that ;)

And remember everything we have to look forward to.  Thanksgiving will be here in just under a week, and Christmas is coming in five weeks, which means lots of pretty lights, egg nog, and so much more.  Snow usually signifies something when it flies, the start of the Winter season.  It hasn't this year because of how late we had Summer/Spring temperatures hanging around (11/15), but this storm has still been a great way to kick off Winter!

And let's face it, things like the Bentleyville Tour of Lights, the Festival of Trees, or even a sliding hill would be incomplete without snow, or enough of it.  We'd be walking around looking at lights and tress on barren grass and getting stuck halfway down the hill.

So the next time you slide into the ditch or can't go somewhere because of the weather, lie back and watch the snow, and be still and enjoy :) It's truly a masterpiece.

For any of you who read this blog from the areas of this storm I have attached links to the stations I know and trust for weather in Duluth, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Fargo.  For the ones who don't have TV and haven't had a chance to check yet, I hope this helps you make evening plans.
