The End Of Duck Dynasty?

This week has found Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson placed on hiatus from filming due to some religiously-related comments about homosexuality.  Fans have become outraged, slamming A&E, and creating Facebook communities to petition his reinstatement.  PETA has even joined in on the party, expressing their distaste. In my opinion, this is a prime showing of how things can get out of hand quickly.  Take a basketball game for example. The referees make calls to the best of their ability, but get slammed by parents, players, coaches, and fans.  It seems a bit crazy that we take high school basketball so seriously doesn't it? Obviously, many people are outraged on both sides of the community, and that's expected.  But did it really need to get out of hand like it has now? Anyways, an update. I have gotten absolutely nowhere since last Friday, due to the fact that I am busy with many other things, and those other things get in the way.  I will attempt to write some more ov

Christmas Is Coming

Christmas is only two weeks away.  It's one of my favorite holidays, not because of the presents, but because of the fact that you're around family, friends, and maybe a special someone.  It's also probably the best time of the year to be lovers. Around this time of the year, I go to a Christmas lights show down in Duluth.  It used to be run out of a large property near Cloquet, but then the City Of Duluth bought it out.  It has since gotten bigger and better, and is one of my favorite things to do during the holidays. I've also been heavily involved with my schools Student Council, especially selling Candy Grams, which are like little notes that you send to certain people.  I won't say here whether or not I sent any. And now comes the update on the story. I am currently on Chapter 18, which really isn't too much further than where I was last week, but it has been a very busy week. Next week will see me traveling to Hibhing all day Tuesday for a Division M

The World Lost A Great Leader Yesterday

Yes, the normal updates for this thing will come on Fridays.  Monday is just a bad day to do this sort of thing. Anyways, I haven't gotten too far along since the last update.  I am currently working on Chapters 17 and 18, which take place over the same timeframe of a few hours, but in different locations. I have seen this used in a few books before, and found it quite interesting, as it doesn't let events get skipped over.  It's also a slowdown time for the story, and a break from all the action, which is nice when you've seen a few too many bad things for X Amount of chapters. Also, I would like to send out thoughts and prayers to the people in South Africa, who lost a revered leader yesterday.  Nelson Mandela was a great man, and I am sure he is happily resting at this time, proud of everything he accomplished. I'll update this again on Friday, December 13th.

So, Where Am I Currently?

As of now, I find myself beginning Chapter 16.  This chapter is supposed to be a relatively low-key chapter, with not much happening.  The plot setting is currently Chicago, IL.  The story will probably stay there for a few more chapters before moving on to where the main action happens, and most of the people that signed up will appear. So, how did I get the idea to have the characters sidetrack through Chicago?  I've actually been to Chicago, and I found it as quite the interesting city.  Having some action happen here to push the story along to the main location, rather than just dragging the story along until we hit the place, makes the story look and sound much better. I still have some positions open as well.  I need a local comedian, and an actor.  Pretty much anybody I know could fill these roles, so just let me know if you're interested.  I'll update this again on Monday, December 9th.

Welcome!

Welcome everybody!  Yes, you have successfully found your way to the DJ Rollie D story blog.  Here, you can sign up to be included in the story as a character, read about the progress that the story is making, and sooner or later, count down to the final product!   I still have a long way to go, and I know that sounds nuts seeing as I started on this two months ago, but it'll be done before we know it!  How long is it going to be? Probably very long!  But I'm sure you'll enjoy it upon it's completion.
