Old Man Winter Just Won't Quit!!!

Winter hit us again up here last night, covering the ground once more with fresh sticky white snow.  Most of it melted before school let out, but that doesn't matter.  We won't be starting our baseball season until next week now unless another freak winter storm happens!!!! Old Man Winter just won't go away this year, and he didn't until mid-May last year.  He just has to keep biting us in the ass with more and more snowfall each week.  Will he ever quit?  I'm ready for some warmer temperatures and green dry grass, maybe even the smell of fresh fallen rain.  Enough of this Winter!  We just passed up last year for snowfall amounts too!  GO AWAY SNOW! As for the story, I finally did make some progress this week, moving into Chapter 26, and opening it with a comedic quote that sounds like something that the character that utters it would say.  It's going to be a good time writing the next chapter or two. Next update is May 2nd!

Another Week From Hell?

This week was the one-year anniversary of the "Week From Hell" as CNN later referred to it.  That week saw the Boston Marathon bombing and subsequent manhunt for the Tsarnev brothers.  One is dead and the other is locked up, hopefully for good.  A fertilizer plant in Texas also exploded, causing several deaths and many injuries.  It was also Tax Day, but that's a pain every year. Tuesday was the Boston Marathon.  Many people donned the new "Boston Strong" apparel line, and participated in a moment of silence at 2:49 ET to remember the victims of this tragic incident.  Although there were no actual bombings or terroristic events, two unattended bags were found near the site of last years detonation area.  Nobody was harmed though both bags were later detonated by the bomb squad.  I think that's its sick that someone would try to repeat last years events, but these people didn't apparently. Then a South Korean ferry tipped over and began sinking.  Word

Last Weekend Was AMAZING!!!

Well, my first Student Council State Convention is over, and I have to say it was a great weekend overall!  I got to meet lots of new people, voice my opinion on "hot topics", which are controversial issues concerning Minnesota students, and play some dodgeball with two fellow NED people, and then the Eastern Division.  I don't really relate that to being a traitor, rather I relate it to enjoying what time I have by meeting other people and playing games. Sunday morning saw us having round tables, and that left me with many ideas to bring back and use in both my school and NED throughout the next year.  Students at my school are looking for changes relating to what we do for Homecoming and Snow Week, and I think we've found them. Although sleeping was done in hotel rooms, we still had host families that visited with us on Saturday night and then served as drivers the rest of the weekend.  I had a family that was from India, and they were so kind to me and the two

State

This weekend, I'll be making memories at a high school in Woodbury.  It's the annual MN State Convention for Student Councils, where some very important decisions are made, and we get to meet kids from other schools.  A long car ride is involved sure, but the experience I'll get for when I take over as NED President and the time I'll spend with many people including those from NED will far outweigh the drive. There's actually a semi-formal banquet and dance on Sunday night, and that's going to be a good time as well. Being a DJ, any chances I have to not be stuck behind the booth and actually get out and dance in groups are welcomed with open arms.  I hope this part of the convention goes smoothly. That being said, I hope the conference goes great, and I know I'll have a good time. I didn't make any progress with the story this week, and I apologize again. Next update is April 11th.  I leave you today with some stories from around my area done in
