The World Lost A Great Leader Yesterday

Yes, the normal updates for this thing will come on Fridays.  Monday is just a bad day to do this sort of thing.

Anyways, I haven't gotten too far along since the last update.  I am currently working on Chapters 17 and 18, which take place over the same timeframe of a few hours, but in different locations. I have seen this used in a few books before, and found it quite interesting, as it doesn't let events get skipped over.  It's also a slowdown time for the story, and a break from all the action, which is nice when you've seen a few too many bad things for X Amount of chapters.

Also, I would like to send out thoughts and prayers to the people in South Africa, who lost a revered leader yesterday.  Nelson Mandela was a great man, and I am sure he is happily resting at this time, proud of everything he accomplished.

TikTok: Why.... Just Why?

It's a day off and I'm sitting at home scrolling through the Snapchat stories of my friends and co-workers.  I'm just leaving one person's story and moving onto the next, but first I have to watch an advertisement, because Snapchat needs to make money somehow doesn't it? I look at the screen, and for some reason a teenaged dude is just chilling there in a white suit and clown makeup lip syncing to some song I've never heard of before.  The screen is split though, so you know someone else must be coming to join him, right?  Well low and behold not even five seconds later another teenager in a black suit with his hair groomed to resemble a sheep and blue/black skin steps in and starts lip syncing to another part of the song where a different person seems to sing.  The ad cuts out not long after that, and I'm back with my Snapchat stories. My Home Away From Home

Some of us most likely have a "home away from home".  A place where we go to escape the pressures and stresses of daily life and just feel at ease and relax.  It could be the deer camp, the radio station, the RV campground nearby, or even your friend's basement.  These types of places provide us mental rest from whatever is driving us nuts back home, and we can breathe easy knowing that we have some time to ourselves. Back when I was in MN, my home away from home was Story Book Lodge.  It was pretty much an exact copy of home - A place I loved to be on the waterfront with lots of trees and delicious smells and amazingly designed buildings.  The only major difference between home and SBL was that SBL had a lot of people around, unless it was the weekend, when a lot of counselors went home, and only those sticking around for the next week of camp stayed put.  It's always blissful and blessing to be there, and I'm going to write more about SBL at a later dat...
